Department of Food Science and Technology


The department of Food Science and Technologyorganizes conferences on different topics every year to illuminate the knowledge of students. International Seminar on "Emerging Trends in Food Processing Technology - 2020 where the resource person was Mr. J. Leo JohnsonDirector & Business Head, Suguna Poultry Kenya Limited , Kenya. International Seminar on "Recent Trends in Food Processing Technology - 2019" where the resource person was Dr. A. Wilson Aruni, Professor, Division of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California, USA. Pro - Vice Chancellor, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.National Seminar on "Recent Trends in Food Processing Technology- 2018" (2017-2018) National Seminar on Hurdles to Horizon - Emerging trends in Food. (2016-2017) National Seminar on "Recent Perspective in Food Technology". (2015-2016) State level seminar in "Technical Trends in Food Processing" (2014-2015).



Health Fest is a Nutrition Awareness Programmeorganized by our department every year to bring out the emerging talents of students in the field of Food Science and Nutrition. Students from various colleges are actively participated in different events such as Nutri Quiz, Caricature, Paper presentation, Rangoli, cultural events and the overall rolling trophy will be awarded for first and second prize winners of Health fest.



Workshop on "Development of Value added products from locally available foods" was organized in the year 2019, Food preservation training on Jams, Squashes, Syrups, Pickles, Besan Omelet, Ketchup and low cost health recipe preparation sponsored by Food and Nutrition Board in the year 2017, with the motto of Processing and Preserving locally available seasonal foods. "Swaatch Bharat Pakhwada" Personal Hygiene and Environmental Sanitation sponsored by Food and Nutrition Board in the year 2017
