National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (Army Wing) in the college comes under the command of 14 (TN) NCC Battalion, Dindigul. One infantry Company of NCC functioning in the college with the allotted strength of 160 cadets which includes Senior Division (Boys) and Senior Wing (Girls) cadets. NCC in the college plays a credible role in shaping the character of students by instilling the values of patriotism, service, discipline, hard work, Personality development and Life Skills (PDLS) and Officer Like Qualities (OLQs). Students (Boys and Girls) enrolled into the NCC program every year. The cadets enrolled are given institutional training and Camp training the cadets can participate in adventure activities, community development programmes, various national level annual training camps, youth exchange programmes, sports and cultural activities. The cadets are given rigorous physical training which includes Drill, Range Firing, Map Reading, tent pitching and so on.

The National Cadet Corps came into being on July 16, 1948 with the promulgation of the NCC Act XXXI of 1948. NCC is place under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
»   To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.
»   To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation.
»   To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.
NCC Cadets undergo three years training and appear for NCC "B" & "C" certificate examinations based on the following subjects:

»   A cadet holding NCC "B" or "C" certificate can aspire to be enrolled in uniformed posts by Public Service Commission.
