About National Cadet Corps

Among the several wings in NCC, AAC has only Army. (The other NCC wings are: Navy, Air Wing, Armoured Squadron, etc.). Our Army unit is called 7/14 Arul Anandar College and is attached to 14(TN) BN NCC, Dindigul.

NCC provides opportunities to participate in several types of camps including the prestigious Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. A maximum of 120 students drawn from all three years serve as members of our NCC unit. Every year, around 40 first-year students are enrolled into NCC.

An NCC student may be a part of the NCC programmes for a maximum period of three years. He/She can participate in the 'B'-Certificate Examination at the end of the second year and the 'C'-Certificate Examination at the end of the third year.

The Aims of NCC

The National Cadet Corps came into being on July 16, 1948 with the promulgation of the NCC Act XXXI of 1948. NCC is placed under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.
To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation.
To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.

Training Syllabus & Subjects

NCC Cadets undergo three years of rigorous training and appear for NCC "B" & "C" certificate examinations based on the following key subjects:

Disaster relief, adult education, and women empowerment initiatives.
Blood donation camps & solid waste management awareness.
Awareness rallies on anti-dowry, anti-leprosy, and anti-drug campaigns.
